I visited the San Diego Air and Space Museum last Weekend, and took a bunch of pictures. I’ve been to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Dulles, Virginia, which is really nice. This museum had some nice exhibits, and things I hadn’t seen before.
Leo Carillo Rancho
I visited the Leo Carillo Rancho this summer. It’s in Carlsbad, and is the site of an old Spanish Rancho. Leo Carillo was an actor who appeared in over 100 movies, and he decided that he wanted to rescue some of the history of the area, which is why he bought and worked to restore the rancho that ended up becoming named after him. It has a very authentic feel to it, and people arrange to have weddings and receptions at the Rancho.
The home page of the Rancho is at: http://carrillo-ranch.org/
Carlsbad Murals
One of the surprises I experienced upon moving to Carlsbad was the presence of murals around town. I’ve been trying to capture them when I see them, and they are always a pleasant surprise. I’m saving photos of ones I see here.
Murals give Carlsbad a splash of color
I’ll be updating this post as I find more of them.
